Book Pre-Release: Flowering Plants of the Sierra Nevada: A Photographic Guide to Over 1,000 Wildflowers
By: Joanna Clines, Stephen Sharnoff

Join us to celebrate the release of Joanna Clines’s new landmark reference book published by Heyday Books. It is the most extensive photographic guide yet to the flowering plants of our Sierra Nevada. Spanning the western foothills through alpine zones and down the eastern slope to about 6,000 feet, the range stretches from Lake Almanor in the north to the Tehachapi Mountains in the south.

Drawing on decades of field experience, Joanna brings her deep expertise as forest botanist for the Sierra National Forest and longtime collaborator with the native-plant community. Her text is paired with the spectacular photographs of Stephen Sharnoff, capturing over a thousand species in macro detail.

Whether you’re a seasoned botanist, native-plant enthusiast, or someone who simply cherishes the wildflowers of this iconic range, this book is your essential companion.

Be part of this small celebration honoring the plants, place, and the people who bring them into focus.
